HUB FOOTWEAR

Showroom

Nieuwegein, Netherlands

Following the success of the stand design at the Düsseldorf trade fair, ‘Hub-Footwear’ was asked to design a showroom in the ‘Schoenencentrum’ in Nieuwegein.

To stand out in a center consisting largely of white, transparent and glassy showrooms, a black, almost closed box was chosen. The interior is white and minimalist, creating a space where attention is focused on the customer and the shoes.

To present the shoes, a horizontal strip of transparent plastic was included. By placing it at seating height, there is a good view of the shoes from outside, but no direct contact with the interior. Also, this strip makes the upper part of the ‘box’ appear to float.

The mirrored surface and minimalist detailing make the ‘box’ almost intangible. The blue glow of the plastic adds to this.
